With an R-value of 6.2, most individuals will be comfortable using the Insulated Sleeping Mat in temperatures down to around -10ºC, although it is important to consider other factors that impact your warmth, such as weather conditions, what other sources of warmth and insulation you’ll be using with it, and how sensitive you are to the cold.
For more information on sleeping mat R-values, please refer to this guide.
Our Insulated Sleeping Mat PLUS (R6) has been third-party tested according to the ASTM F3340-18 industry standard and received an R-value rating of 6.2.

All Alton sleeping mats are designed to be highly durable and resistant to damage from abrasion and punctures, but accidents can (and do) still happen.
If you think your sleeping mat might have a puncture, we are here to help. Our Returns & Repair information page includes a step by step guide on how to find and repair a puncture, as well as to identify common (non-puncture) issues that can cause partial deflation, including incorrectly closing the valve, cold weather, and natural fabric stretch.
