    Today, hoochie tarps are made with modern materials that are lightweight and packable while still being durable, making them a popular option for ultralight hikers, bushcrafters, hunters, and survivalists. 

  • The best tarp size for camping really depends on your specific usage requirements. Measuring 2.8m x 1.8m, our Ultralight Hoochie Tarp is geared towards solo-use, but it can be clipped together with one or more other Hoochie Tarps to create a large group shelter.

  • Yes, our Ultralight Hoochie Tarp is 100% waterproof and seam sealed throughout. It’s made with a high-quality ripstop nylon fabric that is dual-coated with silicone-PU, giving it a hydrostatic head rating of 3,000mm. This means that the fabric is highly waterproof and suitable for use in heavy rain. 

  • In most cases, repairing your camping tarp is quick and easy. 

    For small to medium punctures or tears, clean and dry the area, then apply a gear repair patch (we recommend Tenacious Tape Silnylon Patches) to both sides if possible. 

    For larger tears and rips, cut a large piece of repair tape (such as Tenacious Tape Repair Tape) to size and apply to both sides.
