I loved it. This plate is of high quality and very light but strong. I used it on a recent hike as a frypan over a small gas burner, then ate a delicious meal from it. It is scratch resistant and easy to clean. My only concern was that the grippers are a little sharp and may put a hole in a dry bag.
Ultralight Titanium Plate / Pan is an awesome piece of gear.
Extremely light weight, don't even notice it in Your pack. Together with the Ultralight Pot Grippers is a must have for Your cooking needs and something to eat out of. Can not recommend this enough. Thank you again Alton Goods for another superior quality product.
What a great piece of kit for an affordable price! This has kickstarted one of my camping goals to start cooking over the campfire, and wow it's been amazing. Will definitely be expanding my kit with Alton's other cookware items!
I took the pan on a hunting trip in the southern alps and it went well. Definitely recommend. Fresh chamois back steaks cooking up with some game rub and butter- beautiful.
This is a great lightweight plate. As a frypan though didn’t work that well with hot spots and eggs sticking even with lots of butter. Never mind still very happy with it.
I like the products, they’re a lot smaller than I thought they would be, so that was disappointing.
I also bought 2 bowls, same thing.
Other than the size, I really like them.
Regards,
John.
Purchased the Ultralight Titanium Plate x 2. These are so light weight and I love how they can be used to cook on, reducing weight in back pack. My order arrived quickly and I was lucky enough to score a free Daypack with my order. The Daypack is also very light weight.
Using this as a frying pan and a plate to eat off. Love it - light weight and easy to clean up after. Worth buying especially for long walks where you want to stay light.
Great lightweight product for the mobile user
Compact, robust and can cook with
Be good if you could get a larger version too
For the hunter or angler
A decent steak or fish fillet fills the plate up
Which is why I bought 2
1 for the veges etc
This plate is great for saving weight. Not only does it double as a cooking surface, you save weight in not needing washing up gear as you can simply invert it over a fire and burn off residue since titanium is extremely heat resistant.
A superior, lightweight option for mealtime enjoyment. Partner it up with the lightweight grippers and you also have the versatility of it doubling as a frying pan. Another Alton classic!
I have only used this to test it out, have not had it in the fire yet. Light, strong, dependable.
Slightly smaller than I imagined but more than adequate for cooking in and eating from. Also useful as a helmet if the hail starts to fall.
Sturdy and lightweight, with enough depth to be used as a bowl. Due to titanium's properties, this plate heats up quick, and cools down quick. This can be advantageous, but it does demand a slightly steeper learning curve when cooking with titanium in comparison to the other metals (aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron).
A top quality product. And if anyone is interested in a cordura storage pouch for this plate, check out the firebox frying pan case. The small version fits this plate perfectly, along with cutlery and other small items.
