Used in conjunction with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash®, this product dramatically reduces sun-induced fading and fabric breakdown.

  • Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® Spray On is designed for use with tarps, packs, awnings, and other outdoor goods made from synthetic fabrics. For best results, clean items with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash® prior to treatment. 

    Application instructions: 

    1. Prepare your working area by laying down a plastic sheet or cardboard, then pitch or lay the item flat. Shake the bottle well before use. 
    2. Holding the spray bottle 15cm away from the item, spray evenly over the exterior face of the fabric, using approximately 50ml of product per 1m². 
    3. Wait for 2 minutes, then wipe off any excess treatment using a damp cloth or sponge. 
    4. Allow to air dry before use or putting into storage. No heat activation is required.

How to Use Nikwax SolarProof® Spray

Ensure your gear is clean and free of grime or debris. Lay the item out flat, or if you’re treating a tent, set it up. Apply Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® Spray evenly over the entire outer surface, ensuring no areas are missed. Wait two minutes, then wipe away any surplus product with a damp cloth. Leave the item dry completely before packing it away.
