Not only the large stuff is excellent quality but even the small. As for camping never underestimate the importance of a tarp and how it can get you out of trouble. This book is a must for any serious outdoor camper with so much information on set up and on knots. A great item 100%

Love this little guide! It fits in nicely with the tarp and has plenty of great configurations I can't wait to try out. The waterproof pages are also a great feature in case of setting up shelter in wet weather.
This booklet is the best ! Especially for begginer of using tarp like myself, been camping for many years but I wouldn't count that as real camping without using the tarp like this little booklet shows. The book is light weight , and waterproof!!! Thanks alton goods, looking forward to buy more products from you guys
The book is a must have. I didn’t realise it was water resistant which makes it excellent value for money. The knot guides are invaluable and make setup so much faster.

I love this little guide! Previously I was not very confident with knots, however, after purchasing this pocket guide and watching a few Youtube videos on the Bushcraft Survival Australia channel, I am much more confident. Thank you Alton for producing another fantastic product.
Sitting in my small gear pouch is this Field guide for the 3m x 3m Ultralight Tarp by Alton Goods.. Many Tarp configurations & there intended purpose & setting with knots at the end of the book.. I like that I don’t have to remember anything with this book lol..

This guide lives in my pack now. So handy to have on me while on an adventure. Love the detailed instructions and illustrations. Can’t say I’ve tried all the set ups listed in here yet but I’m keen to try!
With the nearest campgrounds closed until the 1st of April(SA), the back yard is the next best place to practice set ups! After receiving a camping hammock and tarp setup(not Alton Goods) for Xmas and subsequently watching YouTubers who featured Alton Goods products, I decided to grab the Tarp Field Guide, to use with my 3x3m tarp. Well, I must have raved so much about how many more tie-out points etc., that the Alton Goods tarp has, that I surprisingly received one for my Birthday!! Happy days!! After wrapping my slow brain around the instruction style in the book, I managed to get a couple of shelters up. Being an avid watcher of Scotty's Gone Walkabouts, I was keen to try Scotty's Gunya, which is already a favourite! The knot section is super handy! Making it easy to get the knots I'll use the most, down pat. This guide will certainly have a permanent place in my pack!

I got the 3m x 3m Ultralight Tarp for a few months now and absolutely love it. The Field guide makes it so easy to set up all sorts of configurations for any weather condition. Super small compact size so it fits easily in your pocket. Alton Goods never disappoints and always makes me excited for my next adventure. Highly recommend

You can’t make a tarp from a titanium grille, but you can make a fire from the booklet…if need be. This little shelter guide is ingenious. Very handy indeed. Another awesome offering from Sam and the team.
The pocket sized book feels great with materials used to bind it. Most of all it's filled with heaps of tarp configurations. The back part of the field guide has heaps of useful knots too, all with easily understandable pictures for reference. I was stoked to see "Scotty's Gunyah" shelter configuration make it in the guide too. Highly recommended for anyone who values good knowledge in the field.
Just what I’ve been waiting for. This field guide is well set out and easy to follow. I can now practice so many different tarp configuration options. The section on knots is also brilliant. Well done Alton Goods!

Great little book, easy to follow!
Mate of mine in South Africa runs survival courses in the Greater Kruger National Park. A big part of his course is setting a tarp for shelter from all elements including wild animals. I bought the Tarp Guide, and sent him my Alton Tarp to augment his already superb course. His motto is "you never stop learning" and he says this is helping him learn👍🐘

Great instructions, was hoping for more complex set-ups. Could do with a tougher cover, eg; rite in the rain plastic style instead of cardboard.
It is a good book with nice illustration’s to show you.

Great little book to take camping or as I did take it on a 9 hour flight and read it along the way! Easy to understand, also the camp cooking book is a good read whilst passing the time at 37000ft.
Handy little field guide, with instructions for over 20 tarp shelter configurations.
Would never have worked out some of the shelters without the book.
This guide helped so much when I started doing solo camps. Now, even after I’ve been in the bush a dozen times, I check back and learn new things every time. An absolute must for every tarper.
Have tried and tested some of the configurations, well worth having around.
Wish i didn't need this book but using the right knot for the right application ensures it works and it comes undone when packing up. The ideas and reference tricks are fantastic.
It's like origami for campers. I love my Alton tarp however - probably like many of you - i'm pretty time poor and have never had the opportunity to take a day to workshop different iterations of the product. The guide is brilliant because it helps me plan my setup and my load out. great product.
