Rugged and reliable, our Dyneema® Hardcord boasts the world’s strongest fibre at its core.
Highly reflective tracers have been integrated throughout the braided, abrasion-resistant sheath for easy nighttime visibility, and every cord comes with a lifetime warranty. Perfect for guylines, Dyneema® is static and won’t stretch or tear under stress.
Been using the dyneema cord from Alton for a bit now and it’s excellent. Very thin so it packs away small and ties knots easily but super strong and with very little stretch. Best cord I’ve used yet.
The Dyneema hardcore sure is strong. I bought 30m of it and I’ll buy more. It’s invaluable. The thing I loved about is the reflective fibre in it. The sliding knots hold well with this too!
I didn’t get to use it yet but I was with friends who did. It’s solid, it’s lightweight and reflective at night. 180kg break strength is more than enough for any tarp set up and to possibly hang stuff (ie: deer meat, food bag etc)
I wish you could sell this item in orange too.
On adventure rides weight is always on my mind and looking for ways to reduce size and weight this is perfect corsage for me, will get more with my next order
You can never have enough cord in ur pack as far as I’m concerned, this gear is strong and light which suits the day pack perfectly. Great quality gear I’ll be back for more no doubt 🙏🏻
Great cord. Super light weight and reflective. Perfect for guy lines and lightweight ridge lines. With a few basic knots and the Alton line locks you can very quickly set up anything.
Bought some extra dyneema cord to string up my Alton tarp and use as guy lines for my swag whilst moto camping. Really good quality cord. Great for knots, smaller than paracord and with next to no stretch. It ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for, I’d highly recommend it! Cheers
Excellent quality and very strong. I found the weight to be 3.7 grams per meter, though, which is more than twice what is claimed. Still super lightweight though so not a big deal by any means.
Weighed by myself (+/- 1 g):
15 m length - 56 g
Like what the other reviewers have said, this does hold knots well.
I nearly was going to avoid buying this item when I saw Dyneema as usually when you have Dyneema or similar cord, knots don’t hold well and tend to slip.
The beauty of this cord is that it has a polyester outer sheath which is a better choice because it makes it have more grip to hold knots, while Dyneema is on the inside.
tiny gauge yet very strong. held strong on my tent near Warrnambool (known for its windy conditions). blue reflectors are great for night viz and prefer to the white reflectors.
The small diameter Dyneema cord is great for Prusik knots on the larger diameter "Para Cord" that is supplied as a ridgeline for the 3 x 3 Tarp. I have also made up two more guy ropes for the tarp.
Looks great, Good quality, and weighs almost nothing while being rated at 180Kg/400lb.
I have fitted this hard cord to both my tarps and am gradually switching out all my tent guylines for this cord. I love the durability for weight ratio you get from this product. Highly recommend.
Bought this to replace the factory cord on my Sea to Summit tarp. This cord hold knots well, and is strong, thin, and lightweight. Like all dyneema core cords, cutting it to length can be fiddly, but that's an issue with the category as a whole and not this specific product. Only extra thing I could ask for is a more visible colour to reduce the trip hazard during daylight.
Absolutley awesome product. Soft and easy to tie up, but still very strong and abrasion resistant.
This is my second purchase of this as I use it for lots of different purposes.
