The Ultralight Groundsheet – Double is a reliable, low-cost investment that protects gear that costs significantly more to replace. Made from 30-denier ripstop nylon, this Double Groundsheet for camping delivers a robust moisture barrier between you and the ground without weighing down your pack. Think of it as an investment in the long-term performance of your most expensive gear.
When every gram counts, a reliable groundsheet shouldn't mean a heavy one. Weighing just 355g all up, this Ultralight Double Groundsheet fits neatly underneath our best-selling 3m x 3m or 3m x 4m Tarps, where it keeps moisture, mud, and dirt away from your gear. The heavy-duty yet ultralight 30D ripstop nylon resists tears and punctures from rocks, roots, and rough terrain, so you can rely on it to hold up, trip after trip.
Whether you're a weekend camper, a dedicated thru-hiker, or a bushcrafter who demands tough, reliable kit, the Double Ultralight Groundsheet earns its place on every adventure. Spread it under a bivy, use it as a sit mat at a rest stop, a clean surface for sorting gear, or a makeshift shelter in wet conditions. And when you’re done, it packs down to a small, compact size – leaving plenty of space for other important items.
At Alton, we take an intentional approach to making outdoor gear. That means sourcing premium materials, carefully designing gear to be as simple and effective as possible, then producing in small batches. This lean, no-frills approach allows us to pass the savings directly on to you, so you get high-quality outdoor gear without the over-inflated price tag that usually comes with big brand alternatives.

Great to just help keep you stuff clean and dry. Put a wool blanket on top (car camping) to keep the mats from sliding. Put it into your pack as a liner and use a hair elastic to tie off the top, keeps my stuff dry and made the set up take less time! Hope it helps you too.
Does the job well. Very compact, dries fast and the double size adds usable ground space outside my 1 man tent without adding bulk to my pack.
Can’t complain, does what you expect it to do and looks sick in the olive green colour whilst doing it
Great as a base layer for my swag
Awesome piece of kit. Great material and our dogs love how soft and silky it is.
Does what you expect it to do
Lightweight and strong just the right size for my requirements
Very light and compact able compared to what I”ve been using
Used it last weekend and it do not disappoint me
Solid, durable and really resistant to any damp….buy it..!
Got this as an extra with day hikes and hunting in mind. Perfect as a ground sheet, but will come in very handy as an even smaller tarp perfect for sitting under scouting some hilltops in pouring rain. Based in New Zealand so this is always likely.
Ground sheet is light weight and exactly what I needed
