Tarp Poles give you complete control to choose where and how you build your shelter, without being reliant on trees or other anchors to secure your tarp. This Collapsible Carbon Tarp Pole is slightly lighter and more compact compared to our Telescopic Carbon Fibre Tarp Pole. We recommend this variant for minimalist setups where you are trying to keep your total pack weight to the minimum.
This Collapsible Carbon Tarp Pole is made with premium 12mm carbon fibre tubing that is ultralight, resistant to fractures, and extremely durable. The snap lock mechanism and ends are aluminium, providing superior resistance and longevity over time compared to the plastic components commonly used in competitor products. The result is a stronger, more reliable Tarp Pole that will perform for a lifetime of adventure.
With a maximum height clearance of 135cm, this Collapsible Tarp Pole can be used with all Alton Tarps to create a huge variety of shelter configurations. It features a unique dual-sided segment that can be positioned to either provide a spigot or a smooth rounded end for configurations that require the Tarp Pole to be used in contact with the material. At the base, a molded rubber foot ensures the pole doesn’t sink into the ground.
The Collapsible Carbon Tarp Pole can be used in place of trekking poles in all trekking pole tent and tarp setups. With one or two Collapsible Carbon Tarp Poles, you’ll be equipped to build a secure pole-supported shelter in any terrain and variable conditions. To use, simply slot the segments of pole together, then use the line markings to adjust the height to your desired level and close the snap lock to secure.

I love the light and fast approach with a bivouac and trap set up but, with almost every well used campsite the sticks that I need to use for my up rights have been plucked off for campfires. Now I’ve bought the alton lightweight supports it’s a game changer. Much love from an old outdoor enthusiast.
