Designed for Hammock Camping
We created this Ultralight Aluminium Carabiner with hammock camping in mind. The hot-forged construction prioritises material where it is most effective, resulting in a finished product with an incredible strength-to-weight ratio. This technique also ensures a smooth, rounded load-bearing surface that reduces wear on ropes, straps, and other gear, extending the lifespan of both the carabiner and the equipment it connects to.
Ultralight & Ultra-Strong
The compact dimensions of our Ultralight Carabiner mean that it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet can still easily support your weight in hammock camping scenarios. And when we say easy, we mean it; with an impressive 12kN force rating, this Ultralight Aluminium Carabiner is well above the recommended standard for hammock camping purposes (4-5kN). Please note this carabiner is not intended for climbing, mountaineering or other high-risk activities that require life-supporting equipment.
Enhanced Performance
Engineered for balanced, reliable loading and user-friendly performance, our Ultralight Carabiners feature a classic D-shape that directs the load to the strongest part of the carabiner, along the spine. As well as maximising the carabiners strength, the D-shape design helps keep ropes and gear aligned correctly. When it comes to attaching and detaching ropes, straps or gear, the wiregate closure and precise nose geometry provide a smooth and efficient clipping experience, even with gloves on.
Guaranteed Durability
Alton is committed to making outdoor gear that you can rely on to meet the demands of the wild, combining high-quality materials, award-winning design and real-world wilderness know-how. As a part of this commitment to excellence, all our gear, including this Ultralight Aluminium Carabiner, is covered by a Lifetime Warranty*. Because we believe that when you have confidence in your gear, you can have confidence to go further.

So happy to add yet another fantastic Alton Goods item to my backpack!! These Aluminum Carabiner's are well constructed, have a very sturdy Spring clip and allow me to clip my Solar panel to my backpack to allow the panel to charge my devices while I walk. And being made with Aircraft grade Aluminum ensures they are lightweight and sturdy. Not suitable for climbing uses, but then again, I usually aren't out in the bush to do that sort of adventuring. I really recommend these for use around the camp, hooking the Tarp up to a Ridge line, or just to hang up your backpack up off the ground. Thanks Sam for another great Aussie Camping product.
Love the feeling of confidence evoked by the robust spring mechanism of the metal clip! Such a light-weight carabiner! So well designed! On an aesthetic level, I really like how the figure-eight knot logo is included along the length! Also, can't go past the very welcoming and friendly customer service, with incredibly swift delivery! A great Australian company! Thanks Sam : )
These are so light, it is hard to believe that they are rated at 12kn! Super strong! An invaluable kit item. I use them as basic clips off my pack, and also as a link between my tarp and dyneema rope.
Extremely good quality, lightweight, the spring has a good amount of play and lends confidence to its use.
Fantastic quality. Colours are unique and offer different advantages. Material and build quality are second to none. Another great product from AG.
Love the colour of these new carabiners!
Another amazing product!! This is a great light weight carabiner. It is super robust and and strong and should last for a long time. Keep up the good work Alton Goods!!
Another sensational product from the Alton Goods crew. Great colour, lightweight, and super handy for so many camping needs. Cheers Crew🤘
bought one to try out as a general purpose connector. excellent... very light weight and can be used as a heavy weight connector if required. same price as many carabineers on eBay but this one is a quality product.
Perfect water break connection to the hammock! Very lightweight!
A step above the average Carabiner. These feel great and are made with quality in mind. Very handy to have in your Hiking/bushcraft pack. The orange colour option makes it easier to spot and harder to lose.
These are impressive. The weight rating they can hold for such a light caribiner is crazy. Really handy shape and profile as well.
Great product from Alton, as usual! Light weight, sturdy, practical, really happy with this product! Dan T
Light weight, great quality, can be used for multiple purposes, currently using it to carry my Wacaco coffee machine (also purchased from this site).
Great quality carabiner - sturdy, strong and cool looking. Exactly what you want.
So useful. On my last hike I attached one to my belt loop so I could hang my sit mat from it.
Great general purpose carabiners.Very happy with purchase.
Strong and well made
This is the second set I've bought. First set was for my Haven XL. Now I use the Helsdon Hammock tent and while a superb unit, the standard carabiners it comes with are heavy and the strap tends to snag on the lever. The Alton units are much lighter, far stronger and easy on and off making the Helsdon even quicker to set up than the less than two minutes it usually takes me. No faffing about unhooking the strap from the jaw lever. Why didn't I just take the Alton carabiners from my Haven XL? Because when I sell the Haven I want the buyer to have the benefit of the Alton carabiners and to be honest, I just like getting stuff from Alton.
Super lightweight and strong, the quality surprised me and I use a few of these everything I go hiking and climbing. Fantastic product.
Fifth Alton order and never been disappointed
Love to use these for clipping my hand tools to my backpack.
High quality product. Much to use than the previous set I had.
Absolutely love them super light and strong. Use them for literally anything and everything!

Love all the Alton products I’ve bought so far and don’t expect to be disappointed in the future as they are so well made and are well priced. Thanks Alton!
Looks great quality!! On the order page it appeared from the photos they came in packs of two. I have to read more carefully next time as selecting the default is only an individual carabiner.
Great Quality, nice and light. Would buy again.
