My son and I just completed the Jagungal Wilderness loop. Rain/sleet on the first day and beautiful skies for the rest of the trip, albeit freezing cold temperatures at night. The liners made a huge difference to the warmth of our sleeping bags (especially when they weren’t rated for the temperatures we were sleeping in). I’m a military veteran of 35 years, so the feeling of these liners was very familiar to what I’m used to (not just because they’re green lol). Overall I was very impressed with how comfortable they were. I especially liked the hood and the ability to unzip easily when nature called during the night. A great lightweight addition to my pack!
Perfect for using it in the military to extent the temp rating of an issued 0 degree sleeping bag, the colours good, the side zip and stretch makes it easy to jump in and out, having a proper hood helps keep the bag from moving around or falling off your head. Being a left hand side zip I just turned it inside out for use with right hand zip bag, all in all great product
I found it really good and it did the job ok. I did find I got a bit tangled when getting back in after a bathroom break in the middle of the night though. A matter of practice I guess.
My first ever sleeping bag liner and first impressions were good. Very comfortable, didnt move around and fall off me and I felt better in my sleeping bag than I have in the past. Not sure if it added much warmth but it felt better. Now just need to figure out how to zip my sleeping bag up and then fully do up the liner at the same time.
I really like the anatomical hood. So much better than the type used by STS. Fabric provides real warmth and its smooth hand suggests it might resist pilling. The side entry zip allows easy access that works well with a quilt. Because I sleep on my right side , I have found the left hand zip a bit uncomfortable when it is running along my left side. Wondering if a center zip might work for more people. Saying all that, I do like the product and would sleep in merino’s anyway in cold temperatures. That would most likely fix that issue.
Just a great bit of kit. You can tell it's really well made and well thought through. Comfy material, definitely provides additional warmth and i particularly loved the hood with sits snugly on your head all night, providing that extra bit of warmth. This is my first time buying Alton gear and the quality and design is impressive - they will be my go to for future purchases for sure.
I used it in my Helsdon Hammock the other night with nothing else but the clothes I was wearing. Got down to 14C and very comfortable. Feels great, nice and soft and just the job to keep the chill away. I pair it with my Snugpak Jungle Bag and Special Forces Bivy Bag, lying on my Alton Ultralight Sleeping Mat and have been comfortable at 0C. If I set the Alton Ultralight 3x3 tarp up over this combination I'm confident I could sleep colder. I also throw in the Alton bathtub Groundsheet and Ultralight Bugnet and I have a shelter/sleep system around 2kg that can take on almost anything. If I was heading into the alpine regions I'd just add my Ultralight Top Quilt and still fit everything I need in 40litres. Great product you can rely on.
Quick delivery, amazing product, the sleeping bag liner is very comfortable and fits snuggle around the body. Easy to move when enclosed in the bag. Socks fit well, will be great for hiking.
This was my first time using a sleeping bag liner, aside from my own home made flannelette bag. This one is stretchy so has some give so you can move around inside the sleeping bag. It's also really lightweight and super cosy warm. I actually enjoyed sleeping with it more than with my sleeping bag alone and will take it everywhere from now on, a game-changer for me.
Away for a wet cold overnight hike on the Bibbulmun track WA. I was worried my current 10+ year sleeping back would be a bit cold, but didnt want to fork out for a new one. Grabbed this with hoping for a bit more warmth. Really comfortable and definitely improved the warmth of my sleeping bag. It was really comfortable, and would definitely use it even on the warming camping trips. Packs up super light.
Perfect, lightweight liner. I don't normally use them but had a subzero camp trip and though I better take something extra. This was perfect, bundled up small and was easy to get in and out of. Highly recommended.
